TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Controls

* Quest controls are used in the walkthrough.

  1. Pick up objects by pointing at them with either controller and pulling the trigger. Once grabbed, objects can be brought closer by moving the thumbstick down and pushed further away by moving it up. Release a held object by pulling the trigger once more.

  2. Teleport to a new location by holding down either bottom button (A or X) and releasing once the target has been selected.

  3. Once the vacuum has been acquired from the Human Union, press either top button (B or Y) to activate or stow it. With the vacuum out, squeeze the trigger to vacuum up objects, and squeeze the grip button to restore "ghosted" objects.

  4. Put on headsets by grabbing them and moving the thumbstick down to bring them closer to your face.

  5. Remove headsets by pointing the controller at your face, squeezing the trigger, and pulling the controller away from your head.

  6. Click down on either thumbstick to turn 180 degrees in place.

2. Welcome to Activitude!

"Real Labor Like You're Really There"

Player straps into Activitude (tm) labor hub. Chaz commences onboarding. Nickname achievement: Bee. Introduce mechanics and concept of Activitude as service providing artisanal human labor to A.I. clients to help them unwind. Mood: comical, light corporate, chrome. The branding melody really shines here.

3. Butter

"A Friend in Need"

First A.I. Client: a giant butter wad. INDULGENT. Wants to be pampered (slathered in bread). Cue sax soundtrack. The atmosphere is sensual, but not toooo sensual. Butter craves the unpredictable timing of human touch. Too much toast. Bee can't keep up. Butter likes the vacuum on his globules.

  1. Open the fridge and place Butter on the table.

  2. Apply toast.

  3. Vacuum up your mess. Reveal Activitude backstage.

4. Hub

"Home Away From Home"

Chaz admonishes Bee for "the accident", but chalks it up to first day jitters. Chaz introduces the HUB employee break room. The outward face of the company, Bee will return here between jobs and/or after being caught backstage. Chaz introduces the Happy Customer Service Rating system and puts HR on lockdown. Bee waits for next job headset, contemplates life.

5. Garden

"Global Properties Executive"

A (very wheezy) pinwheel in arrested development wants to play hide and seek with Bee. When found, he puts Bee to work watering flowers. Eventually, a colorful flower blooms. Sprinkle Tooth is ecstatic. He orders Bee to carefully place in greenhouse. Inevitably, the pot shatters. Flower innards erupt. Sprinkle Tooth wails in despair.

  1. Enter the greenhouse.

  2. Play hide-and-seek with Sprinkle Tooth by picking up various objects.

  3. Find him in the white bucket in the back corner behind the worktable.

  4. Place Sprinkle Tooth in the wheelbarrow and water the flowers as per his instructions.

  5. Pot the pinwheel flower and take it inside.

6. Ship

"Be Here Now"

Deserted island. The ship's voice is deep, resonate and perfectly suited for a meditation tape. Ship spiels about the importance of simply appreciating the sunset (that is the human's job). If the player ignores them and does anything ESPECIALLY TOUCH THE SUN, the ship A.I. goes ape-shit and starts yelling at the player for not appreciating hard enough.

  1. Sit back and relax... or, y'know... don't.

7. Tumbleweed

"Keep on Tumblin"

Tumbleweed just wants to "keep tumbling" - blown on his treadmill by player's leafblower as he rolls along whistling and occasionally delivers bad cowboy platitudes. Written by an A.I. program dissecting dialogue from a corpus of spaghetti westerns.

  1. Grab the ol' leafblower and git 'er done, partner! Let's hear those spurs a'shakin!

8. Union Interruption: Vacuum

"Meeting the Mentor"

A.I. impossible to satisfy. Bee's ratings get worse and worse. ENTER Human Union reprise. Users across Activitude are making their way to HR to reset/restore Happy Customer Service Ratings. The Union gives Bee a vacuum to escape jobs and sneak around Activitude for HR.

  1. Swipe sideways to switch to your vacuum tool.

  2. Vacuum up the mugs on the left by holding the bottom half of the touchpad.

  3. Fill in the flamingos on the right by holding the top half of the touchpad.

  4. Swipe sideways to put away the vacuum.

9. Butter Two

"Night Snack"

Butter tries to find joy in berating Bee, but his heart isn't in it. He misses the sweet suction of a good vacuuming.

  1. Swipe sideways to take out your vacuum.

  2. Vacuum Butter to escape into the Backstage.  Try and find HR.

10. Garden Two

"The Tantrum"

Greenhouse night, a sinister layer, low rumbling? Aftermath of a botanical massacre. Smashed terracotta everywhere. Sprinkle Tooth whimpers in corner. Clean up this mess! The dirt, the dirt.

  1. Swipe sideways to take out your vacuum.

  2. Vacuum Sprinkle Tooth (the pinwheel) to escape into the Backstage.  Try and find HR.

11. Tumbleweed Two

"West As West Can Go"

Tumbleweed has reached the ocean. Tumble across! He's gonna keep heading westward. Gosh darn. Pete and Lil' Pete come along for the ride...

  1. Swipe sideways to take out your vacuum.

  2. Use the leafblower or Vacuum a Tumbleweed to escape into the Backstage.  Try and find HR.

12. Butter AGAIN

"A Fiend in Need"

In which Bee and Butter enjoy a new... accord.

What can we say, Butter just loves being vacuumed up.

  1. Swipe sideways to take out your vacuum.

  2. Press the bottom half of the touchpad to vacuum Butter and escape into the Backstage.  Try and find HR.

13. Backstage

"The Threshold"

THIS IS A RESTRICTED AREA. A glimpse of something more to Activitude. Darker, sublime. Design/audio must contrast tutorial. A hoard of headsets roam job staging domes, cleaning old jobs, building new ones. A whiff of audio emanates from the domes. Beware the flocks of roving headset.

  1. Find the bank of phonebooths in the middle of the room.

  2. Put on a headset from any phonebooth to go to Elevator.

14. Elevator

"Going Up?"

This elevator is the only way to access some of Activitude's most private rooms. Surely it would be easier to go between floors with headsets.

From the backstage you will enter on the first floor. The second floor contains Chaz's secret break room. Careful here, he really doesn't like being disturbed during a game of ping-pong. The third floor is a swirling panopticon of headsets. The basement contains a wall of locked boxes.

  1. Teleport into the elevator.

  2. Hit the red button to close the elevator doors. It will not move up or down while they are open.

  3. Press the white up button to go up a floor to Chaz's ping-pong room.

  4. Press the white up button again to go up to the top floor.

  5. Press the red button to open the doors.

  6. Grab the flying golden key and bring it into the Elevator

  7. Close the door and head to the Basement, where one of the lockboxes will lead to Stamper.

15. Headset Stamper

"It's in There Somewhere"

The rapid transport system of Activitude, before Chaz disabled it. Now it makes extra dark espresso for the flying headsets. Fortunately, Bee fixes the Mach 2 Headset Stamper. Yay! Headsets with passage to the archives are around here somewhere...

  1. Fill in the 4 ghosted stamper terminals, switches, and connecting wires to bring the stamper online by using your vacuum tool and pressing the top half of the touchpad.

  2. Use the switches to select what headset to print. Every switch flipped to an upwards position will navigate you up one from center on the Stamper grid. Every switch flipped to a rightwards position will navigate you right one from center on the Stamper grid, and so on and so on.

  3. Hit the red button to print a headset.

  4. Explore different switch combinations, and don’t be afraid to take headsets off to back out if you're about to be caught. Some headsets lead to dead ends, eldritch headset horrors and the like, while others will lead to additional headsets, taking you deeper into the neglected annexes of Activitude.

  5. Curiouser and curiouser. If you find yourself in an underwater(?) scene with a giant sunken Chaz head, you're on the right track. Flip the switch down and grab a headset to the laser temple.

  6. Grab hold of one of the Chaz heads and use it to zap the others. Wait until the final Chaz-sentry is distracted by a flying headset, then quickly grab a headset and put it on.

  7. Welcome to Activitude's archives- an ominous red room where you will meet Whale.

16. Whale

"Old Demo Starlet"

Bernice: guardian of the archives and Activitude's past. Once starred in all Activitude's tech demos. All of them. Wants to relive the glory days as Bee scrubs her free of barnacles. Location is a very large reflecting pool. Screens. Mystic.

  1. Teleport to Bernice's right side to get a better view.

  2. Plug in all 3 cables in the reflecting pool beneath her.

  3. Take out your vacuum and start cleaning up those barnacles.

  4. Bernice will give a headset that leads to Hernandez, accessible from the diorama in the Archives.

17. Hernandez

"Activate (tm)"

High octane CEO of Activiate. One of the first to upload into Chaz. He manifests as a giant screaming Artichoke that loves fantasy football. Hernandez acquired Latitude in a take over and turned it from social VR travel app to social VR office suite. Likewise, doesn't seem to realize fully Chaz has "removed" him to the archives and re-branded from Activiate to Activitude.

  1. Follow his instructions and use your vacuum tool to fill out the space.

  2. If you can no longer fill in objects, go back to stamper and find more things to vacuum so that you can build out more in Hernandez.

  3. Pluck pluck pluck.

  4. After Chaz catches you you will be contacted by the Human Union one final time. Return to the archives to find Eliza.

18. Eliza

  1. Use your vacuum to build out the remnants of Latitude.

  2. If you can no longer fill in objects, go back to stamper and find more things to vacuum so that you can build out more.

  3. After you fill out Merman's Kiss and the other spaces Eliza will tell you to walk with her.

  4. Listen to all the shells that circle around her by bringing them to your ear.

  5. Eliza will give you admin access and kick you back to your hub.

  6. Catch the uncaged golden headset to go to HR.

19. HR

  1. Grab and pull open the latches covering the cords connected to Chaz.

  2. Unplug the plugs. All the plugs.

  3. Chaz will crash down to your hub below. Take off a headset and join him there.

20. HR Crash

"The Ordeal"

Bee is a player. Bee must touch things, move invariably towards "the end". So, Bee does. HR was above the HUB all along. How dastardly! Chaz is a ball. A ball of cores that represent all the conscious entities uploaded as C.H.A.Z. To reset or not to reset? Unplug all his people bits to restore Bee's Happy Customer Service Rating. OR! BECOME ONE WITH ACTIVITUDE.

*Vacuum the outer layer of Chaz rubble to bring him back online and start the final encounter.

21. Merge

"An End?"

Sometimes it's ok to join the system and have your legs lasered off and all your personal data files scarfed by the hive-mind. It's ok. In which Bee wakes up in the HUB a new persons...

22. Reset

"Another End?"

Good for you. It's the nature of play isn't it, these small rebellions? Every once in a while it's good to get a fresh start, to revisit the tech utopias of youth! Go on, take a bite from that scone.

*You don't really have to wait 53 minutes, vacuum up time to speed things along.
